Dress Code


Students are expected to wear clothing that is appropriate for the promotion of an effective educational program.  It is the responsibility of the school to provide an atmosphere where all children will be able to learn, and it is the responsibility of the students to help create and maintain this atmosphere.  Shoes are to be worn at all times ( sandals with heel straps are acceptable if the student brings another pair of shoes for P.E.).  Bedroom slippers and flip-flops are not acceptable footwear.  Shorts must be mid-thigh or longer.  Tank tops, backless garments and thin-strapped blouses or dresses are not acceptable.  All tops, blouses, sweaters must be long enough to cover the waist (no exposed midsections).  Pajamas and loungewear are unacceptable. Our dress code is enforced at all school-sponsored activities including incentive trips, field trips, evening events, and all year-end activities.

The following conditions of dress and physical appearance are unacceptable.

  1. No extremely tight fitting garments.
  2. No transparent, revealing, or excessively short garments.
  3. No bare midriffs.
  4. No bare feet, unsafe, or excessively noisy footwear.  No flip-flops or sandals without a heel strap are allowed. Shoes with retractable wheels (Heelys) are not allowed.
  5. No spaghetti straps.
  6. No buttons, armbands, insignia, or clothing that are libelous, obscene, scandalous, or otherwise disruptive will be permitted on campus (e.g., liquor or tobacco advertisements).
  7. No wallet chains or dangling jewelry.
  8. No excessively baggy shorts or pants.
  9. No muscle shirts or other revealing attire.
  10. No hair coloring (e.g., reds, blues, pinks, green or other unnatural colors).
  11. No tattoos, real or temporary.
  12. No body piercing, such as, nose, eyebrows, tongue, etc.
  13. No writing on clothes or body parts.
  14. No disruptive or extreme hairstyles (e.g., Spiked Mohawks, etc.)


Students are expected to keep themselves well-groomed and neatly dressed at all times.  Final determination for unacceptable clothing will be made by the school administration.  Parents of students wearing unacceptable clothing will be contacted and a request for a change will be made.
